The Piedras Blancas rookery is home to about 17,000 animals. The area is open for viewing every day of the year and there is no admission fee or reservation required. It is located 14 miles north of Cambria on Highway 1.

It’s a stretch of wilderness so overwhelmingly beautiful — especially when the fog glows in the moonlight — that it enchants everyone who visits. It’s one of the most romantic, relaxing places in California. There’s little more to do than explore the mountains and beaches, and take in the sea air.
